From what I've seen, the site hasn't taken off yet,but if there is anyone who can help, that would be great.I'd like to know what an indigo child is,how to tell if you are one, etc.I've never had a clue where to begin researching this kind of thing, and I have been pretty sheltered from anything out of the norm my entire life.so if there's anyone who will help me on this, thatnk you.

If you explore more of this forum, you will see there is a lot of info posted already in other threads.

Here's the link to the general list of characteristics people go by.

http://indigoadults.ownbb.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=24

The term "Indigo child" was based on the writings of someone that claimed they could tell if a person had certain special characteristics that made them more evolved than other people by the indigo color of their auras.

Personally, I hate the term "Indigo" but it is the accepted term by most. I don't think the color of one's aura is any real indication since there are discrepancies in how to read aura's and many people who identify as Indigo don't even read aura's themselves....like myself, for example. I just think "aura reading" is how some people's minds translate certain energies and I certainly don't think it is the best indicator. It is generally believed that you must relate, on an extreme level, to nearly every characteristic listed in the Indigo description in order to be "Indigo" and can not vaguely relate here and there to some of the description. There is no sure fire way to know if you are Indigo or not other than your gut level feeling.

What is means to be an indigo child or adult is still an on going debate. Many people who believe in the phenomenon feel it is an evolution of the human race in some way. Some feel indigo people are here to save the human race from fated apocalyptic events in the near future with their psychic powers. Some just generally think it is humanities way of evolving to perpetuate the species and turn it away from it's self destructive nature that will eventually create it's demise through greed, gluttony, wars etc. Some just think it's a fluke of nature and there is no specific reasons for it. There are a lot of theories.

I had already looked at that page, which is why I'm more confused now I think
I can relate to most of the stuff there, but so can a lot of people.what I think I'm trying to get at though,is how is this done.i live in an area where nobody has evEr heard of indigo,so I don't have resources readily available, and I probably won't for quite some time.are there any specific books I should read?are there meditations?and what's a good place for information about any topic that may arise?

Anyone around have some thumbs up or down on the items in the RESOURCES forum for Trancemaster261? (That is where all the books and websites etc are listed and reviewed.)

I have heard that the book "Indigo Awakening" has been helpful for some. I haven't read any books on the subject so I don't really know. I've just been exploring the internet for the info.

The list of indigo traits can read like a medical dictionary for a lot of people, I'm sure, in that it is easy to read a list of symptoms for diseases and relate to most of them on some level. Then you have to re access whether you actually might have 58 different diseases or not just because you occasionally experience a lot of the vague symptoms listed for them.

Perhaps if you heard more personal stories it might be more definitive for you.
I guess, for me, the distinction was in how many bizarre instances I could think of in my life that directly correlates to each description time and time again....like each point related to a huge theme that seems to encircle my life endlessly. If you add the original list to the "adult indigo" description it helps build a more detailed picture.

I really think the list needs to be updated, frankly. Some parts are just too vague and some parts are a bit misleading in my opinion...like the one about having an affinity for dragons, castles and Knights. Sure, I had some affinity for that in my youth but I hardly think that says much.

She made a statement about leaving the web. It sounded like she was moving on to another phase of her life. She hasn't responded to any emails since. I just hope it wasn't a reaction to something bad someone said somewhere.
